Photographer Feature: K. Holly Photography
Laura and Jon's lovely Michigan wedding was photographed by Kristen of K. Holly Photography. Although it turned out to be a rainy day, I personally think that the rain made these photographs extra-special. I love the reflections the puddles create, and the use of the black umbrellas which give the photos interesting detail. The reception took place at the Grand Rapids Public Museum, which made for a suprisingly elegant venue, I must say. To see more of Kristen's work, visit her website here.

Wedding Elements Coordinated by Pink Orchid Weddings
When I saw Chelsey and David's nautical themed Maine wedding on the blog of wedding coordinators Pink Orchid Weddings, I instantly fell in love. I know it's the middle of winter and the ground is covered in snow here in New England, but doesn't this just wedding just bring you back to the heart of summer? The wedding was photographed beautifully by Erica Lyn Photography with the help of & Unlimited Photography.
Chelsey, the bride, was the wedding planner for her wedding. She is also a Weddingbee blogger known as Mrs. Gloss. Fiona and Emilie of Pink Orchid Weddings assisted Chelsey in organizing the schedule, coordinating with her vendors, setup of all the elements, and day-of coordination.
Here's a little quote from Emilie about the wedding; "Chelsey was a bride that put personal touches on absolutely everything. She made everything from the strawberry jam favors, to the escort cards, to the s'mores dessert station. Erica Lyn of Erica Lyn Photography captured gorgeous photos of the wedding day, which started out on a steamship that stopped in the middle of Moosehead Lake for the ceremony, and ended at a lantern filled lakeside tent."
Chelsey, Fiona, and Emilie did a spectacular job of bringing this wedding to life, wouldn't you say?

Recipe Card #3: Rustic Winter Wedding
1 part nature. 1 part comfort. 1 part homemade. A touch of vintage.
The key to a rustic winter wedding is to create a cozy, natural atmosphere. Add in plenty of touches that give a homemade feel, along with lots of floral elements that bring the guests back to nature. You want to make your guests feel comfortable and relaxed.
- The accessories. Embellish yourself with something vintage. Whether you choose a feathered hairpiece or antique-style necklace, a vintage accessory adds a definite rustic touch to your attire.
- The details. Add tons of personal touches to the venue. From pine cone escort card holders to favors consisting of homemade jam in glass mason jars, these details will be sure to give off the feel you're going for.
- The dessert. A great way to make your guests feel cozy is through the desserts. Serve winter favorites like hot cocoa with homemade marshmallows and ginger cookies. Check out our previous post on Whimsy and Spice to get more ideas.
- The flowers. This is where you will be able to incorporate a lot of natural elements into the wedding. Choose whites, browns, and greens for your flowers, and add in pieces from nature, such as small branches, miniature pine cones, etc.

How unbelievably GORGEOUS are these cakes by English cake designer May Clee-Cadman of Maisie Fantaisie? I was just blown away when I saw the stunning gallery of cakes on Maisie Fantaisie's website. Floral Arrangements by Bumble Bee Landing
I'm just loving these floral arrangements done by Bumble Bee Landing, a florist based oustide of Boston. The photography was taken by Shang Chen Photography. That fuschia bridesmaid's dress just compliments the flowers so perfectly, doesn't it?
